The Pay-Per-View was awesome last night. Not to mention the fact that everyone was crying and weeping and "oh isn't this nostalgic!!" the wrestling was really good (mostly) and entertaining (ditto).
The only times I found myself disinterested were during the Extreme Luchadore match with Psychosis and Rey Mysterio, the Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit match, and RVD's promo. The luchadore match was just all around lacking in performance. Psychosis was a pansy or out of practice and barely did anything I would dub "extreme" after his sleeper hold and fist thingy off the apron the boooos were so loud that I was sure someone was literally going to shoot him. He finally did a crazy guillotine thing where Rey Mysterio was draped across the guard rail and he jumped off the ring onto him and flipped him over, but by then it was too late. On Rey Mysterio's part, all he did was his WWE stuff. I personally didnt want to see a 619 or a West Coast Pop and he was dressed in his regular attire. To me, it was like a bad match I had already seen before.
I got a similar feeling with the Eddie Guerrero/Chris Benoit match. Here are two guys (both currently in WWE) doing very unextreme things. No, I was not watching wrestling when ECW was alive, but that seemed to be something I would have seen on Smackdown! and not at such a special and unique Pay-Per-View.
As for the RVD promo. It was ho-hum. He spent way too long telling all of us how this was all his idea and "how great am I?" blah-blah-blah. The good part about it was that eventually it exploded into a Sabu/Rhino match. It was the first time I had ever heard anyone cheer for Rhino,,, ever. It was a great match too. Sabu is one crazy redneck...
Another great match was the cruiserweight match. I have to say, this one was my favorite. There was lots of flipping and doing of crazy shit in this match and thats just what I love to see. At one point Super Crazy jumped off a balcony into the crowd and the popped back up and continued the match.... very fun to see.
I really hope they bring it back as a full time gig, or even a once a year deal. It really has made wrestling interesting again. Not that Im not going to piss and moan tonight when RAW comes on, but still. I truly had fun watching wrestling and that hasnt happened in awhile.

On my way out of Harris Teeter Ashburn yesterday, I was given a bushel of steamed blue shell crabs. They had been used as a demo on crab picking to promote a sale on crab meat that was going on. There were about four bushels left and since HT doesn't sell crabs, they were giving them to employees who would take them home. So, I packed them with ice, threw them in the car and hoped they would make it back in one piece. THEY DID!!
I've spent nearly all day picking crabs and will spend a good bit of tomorrow picking crabs as well.
I have that fish smell stuck in my nose, I'm pretty sure. I smell it everywhere... I smell it on me, I smell it in my car, I smell it outside, I smell it at his work, I even thought I smelled it at Bed Bath and Beyond... eew!
But, for some really good fresh crab cakes, the sore fingers and fish smell is worth it. I'm sure John could say the same about other things as well... **wink**

Speaking of my darling John. I've done a terrible thing to him... well, its not really that bad but I do feel awful. I was giving him a haircut and, like a total dumb ass, forgot to put on the length guard. So, I cut a huge swatch out of his head. Shaved it clean off... It was terrible. So, we decided to shave his head completely, since there was no real way to fix my huge goof.
He seems to be a lot better about it then I am, though. It doesn't look bad, but I just feel like a total screw up. Ive been screwing things up a lot lately and this is just the icing on the cake. Now John has to live and deal with my stupidity. I know I'm probably kicking myself a little too much, but I just feel dumb. I feel like I cant be trusted to do anything right without having my hand held... I feel ridiculous.

Feelin' a Little Lonely
I'm getting ready to go to NoVa tonight. I'll be there for five days, leaving Sunday afternoon. And already, though I havent left yet, I'm feeling a little bit homesick. This is the longest I've been away from my new family in, well, ever.
I'm sure that once I get up there, get working and spend a little time with some friends from work who are also going, I will feel much better and begin to even have fun... but for right now, I am feeling kind of sad.
I've made a CD of good music to listen to and bought some munchies for the road, so that helps.
Think of me, and wish me luck as I brave the smog, traffic and general shittyness that is the DC area.

The air conditioner stopped working last night. Its been making funky grr grr grr noises for the past few weeks, but it finally died... just started blowing luke warm air at us at about 1 o'clock this morning.

Of course, the AC picks the perfect night to stop working too.... Saturday...er.. Sunday morning. No one is in the office today to come fix it and tomorrow is a holiday so no one will be around tomorrow to fix it either. That means that no one will even know we are sweltering over here until Tuesday. Its a good thing its a bit cloudy outside or we would really be in some trouble.

I guess we should have known better and been more on top of things. We could have called on the funny noise weeks ago, but figured it was nothing much and didnt worry about it.

ITS THE WEEKEND!!!! WOOOooooOOOoo!!
Finally, the week is over. Ive gotten all my chores done but grocery shopping (which can wait) and now all I have to do is RELAX. I think it's time for a collective sigh of relief.. ready?? 1...2...3... aaahhhhhh.... There are brews in the fridge and wine chilling, Dave Chapelle seasons 1 and 2 waiting to be vegged to, and a list of things to do about as long as Stephen J. Pendleton's dick (Sorry ol' chap).

I'm going to need it, too, because next week is going to be cRaZy. I'm leaving Tuesday evening for NoVa to help open store 242. I should only be gone a few days, but I still haven't gotten my hotel reservations or directions yet, so I'm not exactly sure of my itinerary. I could use the extra cash from travel/overtime, so I agreed to go. Also, its going to be really helpful to see how a store's Grand Opening goes and what is expected in other stores seeing as Im going to be opening a store here in Charlottesville in just a few more months.

Oh, but who cares about that now?? Not I, Captain!

So this weekend has been a bit interesting so far...
On Friday, John and I were supposed to go to Friday's After Five. Well, John was supposed to go for work and I was going to keep him company. Anywho, while they are renovating the Downtown Amphitheater into the Charlottesville Pavilion (shmooo!), they have moved FAF to Garrett Square. For those of you who dont know what Garrett Square is, it's the closest thing Charlottesville has to a ghetto. Its a very bad neighborhood and if anyone gets shot or stabbed or robbed, its usually in that part of town. To say the least, I was a bit nervous about spending an evening there. Luckily for us, it decided to POUR buckets and buckets that morning and so Fridays was canceled. Of course, it was nice and dry that evening, but I'm pretty sure the field would have still been swampy.

Then, on Saturday morning, it was John's weekend to work. I get a call at 8 a.m. from him and guess what?? His car is broken. The clutch went out (again... mind you). Now we are just waiting for Habib to call and say that its done...boo!

We are almost finished putting our junk on eBay. Last weekend we posted this pencil sharpener.

And do you want to know what it sold for this week??? $50.00. I shit you not. Of course, it hasn't been paid for yet, so that may not come to fruition... but still!! Someone bid a plastic pencil sharpener shaped like a nose up to fifty bucks!!! Life is truly bizarre.

The janitor at my work lost his job today. That makes me sad... a little bit anyway.
You see, I cant feel TOO bad for him, because he did bring it on himself. On the other hand, I dont know what is going to happen to him or where he is going to go. How will he eat? Where will he live? Im pretty sure he was living at a motel, so I doubt he has but a few days to find another home.
Wayne was a good guy, really. He busted ass when he came to work and was very nice and always fun to be around. Wayne also had some demons on his back.
He's an alcoholic, for one. He's also addicted to LOTTO, so he has no savings. I'm pretty sure its the booze that got to him. He's just been falling off the wagon lately... not showing up for work and such. Its been going on for a few months now. He'll have one or two good weeks and then no call/no show a few days. After he didnt show up yesterday we all pretty much knew he was a goner, but no one was ready to believe they would fire him. I mean, no one else in the world would be willing to do his job. That man scrubbed EVERYTHING in the store, even things I didnt know were there.

I hope this serves as a wake-up call for him to get his life straightened out. I hope he gets another job soon and doesnt have to be homeless. I hope he's going to be okay. No, scratch that...

... I really hope he's going to be okay.

Well, another crazy semester has ended, and finally SUMMER BEGINS! After fifteen weeks of doing the absolute least to get by, I've pulled off a semester GPA of 3.5 (1 A, 1 B) which leads me to a cumulative GPA of... you guessed it... 3.5 (2 As, 2 Bs). I would like to bring that up just a skosh, but for the amount that I was actually IN class this semester, and the amount of effort I actually put in, I did way better than I acctually deserved to.

(This is a guinea pig named Skosh).

So why haven't I written anything in two weeks? To be honest, I havent had anything to write about. I mean, plenty has been going on, but I have felt like its either too boring or stuff that I dont think would show me in a particularly good light. It seems as though every time over the past few weeks that I have had something noteworthy to say, its only because Im cranky or stressed or frustrated or angry... and that seems to come across a lot on here. I am really not such a whiny person (I dont think) nor do I really have that much to complain about, but nonetheless, complaining seems to be the majority of what I do on here. I suppose its because when Im feeling good, I dont know exactly how to write about that. I only write when I've got something that I want to CHANGE.
Im trying to get away from that.
I've bought a new pair of shorts for work and WHEE! I finally get to wear them. It has been absolutely beautiful lately, and Im excited about being able to get a little comfy and show a little skin. Of course, that skin happens to look like a plucked chicken, as it hasnt seen the sun in YEARS, but its skin either way and Im excited. (Pick on my shade of white...er... translucent... all you want guys! I know you wouldnt tease me if you didnt like it so HA!)
I've gotten my share of teasing because Im downright pasty, but I dish a lot of it, so I can take a little (*but just a little...:) ).
